Multi-axial Fabric

Multi-axial fabric is manufactured by spreading direct roving at a certain angle (such as 0, 90 and ±45°) by 2-6 layers generally, and adding chopped layer and non-woven layer, and then stitching such layers with polyester yarns. It is also called multi-axial warp knitting fabric. Multi-axial fabric is a kind of non-crimp fabric and can give play to the mechanical property of fiberglass in a better manner. The multi-axial fabric with its gram weight centered on one direction (such as 0 º) is also called unidirectional fabric. Multi-axial fabric can be used for vacuum infusion, prepreg and filament winding processes and for production of wind turbine blades and pipes. The applicable resins include epoxy resin (EP), unsaturated polyester resin (UP), vinyl ester resin (VE) and polyurethane resin.
